Jennifer Lawrence is Red Haute in Dior Couture
We know a showstopping red carpet gown when we see one, and Jennifer Lawrence's crimson Dior gown turned more than a few heads at the Academy Awards. From the understated peplum waist to the gracefully tailored silhouette, J-Law got it right for the 204 Oscars.
The actress's modeling contract with Dior makes the iconic design house her brand of choice for red carpet fashions, but her last few attempts drew more than a few mixed reviews. The completely transparent Dior gown she wore at the Hunger Games: Catching Fire premiere was certainly daring, but it looked like little more than a glorified bodysuit. And her white Golden Globes gown drew comparisons to a white duvet cover wrapped in black electric tape.
We're fairly certain that none of these criticisms apply to her latest red carpet gown, which exemplifies Jennifer's style at its best. Accented by a backwards-draped diamond necklace that channels her jewelry at the 2013 Oscars and Lawrence's slicked-back, cropped locks and minimal makeup, the actress put the focus on her trim physique and the vibrant shade of the dress.
Lawrence may have tripped on her way up the red carpet, but all we'll remember is how utterly fabulous she looked in her gown. And her incomparable acting skills, of course.
