You guys, The Bachelorette is so crazy this season that I’m actually really happy about Mondays. JoJo Fletcher’s season of The Bachelorette is definitely the best I can remember in recent years (even better than Kaitlyn and her Nick-Shawn triangle). But, while we’re here, let’s remember why The Bachelorette happens — to find JoJo a husband. She seems to like Robby Hayes a whole lot — are Robby and JoJo engaged? His Instagram could reveal all.
Obviously, the “winner” of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette can’t reveal on social media that they’re engaged (except Kaitlyn made one big oops on Snapchat), so they’re supposed to go on posting like they would normally. For instance, Lauren Bushnell, Bachelor Ben Higgins’ fiancée, went on living her life, posting pictures of her lunch, vacations with her family, and going out with her friends, just like she wasn’t famous at all. She really had me fooled there. In giving Robby’s Instagram (my favorite channel and I think the easiest to sleuth on) a once-over, I’ve decided that Robby and JoJo totally aren’t engaged.
Why? Robby seems way too self-promotional in his posts. While I don’t think that Robby is on The Bachelorette for the “wrong reasons,” his Instagram makes it seem like he’s trying to take his time on television and turn it into a marketing opportunity. This likely means that he is not marrying JoJo, because when you are actually engaged to the Bachelor or Bachelorette, you have to be way chiller than this. Read on and you’ll see what I mean.
Robby Asks For Comments In His Posts
The end of some of Robby’s IG captions pose questions for his followers, asking them to follow up with their favorite whatever or if they’re excited or not to watch The Bachelorette. Dude has no chill. If you’re really engaged, you don’t have to ask questions to encourage fan engagement to keep them. You’ve already won, so people will follow you anyway.
Robby Is Posting About JoJo
This one post about him and JoJo and how he can’t keep his hands off her would likely never, ever fly because it gives too much away. I doubt he’s hiding their engagement in plain sight here — he’s just trying to drum up people thinking it’s a spoiler. Especially after Kaitlyn’s Snapchat fiasco, there’s pretty much no way the producers would let him post this if they were engaged.
Robby Is Promoting Himself
If you win The Bachelor or The Bachelorette, you’re likely not posting a picture of your business card and bragging about your entrepreneurial spirit. You’re just not. You’re trying to call as little attention to yourself as possible so you can live life quietly and secretly with your fiancé(e) until the After The Final Rose special airs and you debut as a couple. At least, that's what I think.
Sorry, Robby — you and JoJo are so not a couple, but don’t worry. There’s always Bachelor In Paradise.
