Outrageous 2016 Billboard Music Award Looks

Award shows usually entail some of my most favorite style moments simply because they serve as the perfect opportunity for stars to really let their fashion fierceness shine. And the crazy outfits at the 2016 Billboard Music Awards were absolutely no exception. This year's red carpet had musicians showing up in everything from from little black dresses to outfits made from metal. Seriously.

And while I'm impressed, I'm certainly not surprised given what certain celebs have shown up wearing in years past. Like last year, when J Lo appeared in a see through sequenced cut out dress, or when Taylor Swift arrived in an impeccable white sparkling jumpsuit. Oh, and let's not forget when Rita Ora showed up looking like a total Greek goddess in a floor length white gown with sun embellishments. And did I mention when Zendaya wore head to toe, clashing (in a good way) animal print? It was insane, and in the best way possible.

OK, I'm done reminiscing about my favorite outrageous looks from the past. But that's only because there were genuinely so many crazy outfits from tonight's red carpet that I have plenty to occupy my senses. Like, seriously, for a fairly tame day in the middle of May, these stars really brought their creative style A-games.

1. Z LaLa

Singer Z Lala, best known for her song "Fly Away," truly took the cake for craziest outfit of the night in a black metal cage dress. That's right. You didn't misread that. The dress literally encased the singer in metal. Is it me, or is Lala giving us some serious Gaga deja vu?

2. Josh Ostrovsky

Josh, AKA social media star "The Fat Jewish," helped host the red carpet in a white sweat suit with intricate black designs. And oh, a braid styled literally perpendicular to his head. I'm thinking that took a lot of hairspray. A lot.

3. Britney Spears

No pants, no problem.

4. Keke Palmer

Turns out there are many uses for latex.

5. Tove Lo

Heading to the beach later per chance?

6. Kesha

Nothing says statement piece like a purple pant suit.

7. Trevor Moran

No, you're not seeing things. That's definitely a cape.

8. Halsey

Crazy, yes. Amazing? YES!
