11 New York Fashion Week Runway Looks That Channel Disney Princess Outfits

When you were little, chances are you had fantasies of one day becoming a Disney princess. Maybe you were a Mulan, not obsessed with beauty or fashion but always down for a baseball game or some football. Or perhaps you got bored of playing in your backyard and wanted a magic carpet to whisk you away like Jasmine.

No matter which princess you chose as your spirit animal (we all have one), New York Fashion Week Fall 2014's runways have an ensemble that channels her. We're not sure if designers had fairytales on the brain or they just got whimsical, but they put her on the runway. Now all we need is an entourage of snarky yet endearing animals.

Marchesa/Belle

Head in the books dreaming of travel to distant locales? Hop into this golden showstopper.

Oscar de la Renta/Tiana

This Oscar de la Renta dress is way too good for kissing frogs.

Herve Leger/Pocahontas

Herve Leger gave Pocahontas’s earthy ensemble a glam update with this shimmering dress. It may not have all the colors of the wind, but we don’t think anyone will notice.

Jenny Packham/Snow White

We wouldn't be surprised if your entourage were more than seven admirers in this sweet Jenny Packham stunner.

Carmen Marc Valvo/Merida

Carmen Marc Valvo is completely channeling Merida’s girl power, kick-butt attitude in this bold leather dress.

Zimmerman/Jasmine

If you dreamed of taking a magic carpet ride with Aladdin as a child (or as an adult, we won’t judge), this pale blue off-the-shoulder top and skirt are perfect for exploring a whole new world like Jasmine — with or without a prince in tow.

Oscar de la Renta/Cinderella

Catching anyone’s attention in this pale blue puff sleeve gown won’t be a problem. But leaving the ball when the clock strikes midnight may be.

Zac Posen/Aurora

Zac Posen’s spellbinding gown will enchant anyone who gazes at it. Talk about being blessed by great beauty.

Anna Sui/Ariel

Maybe it’s just the flaming red hair and flowing gown, but we’re getting an under-the-sea vibe from this bohemian Anna Sui number. Now all we need is a talking seagull and a treasure trove of glittery objects to complete the look. Dinglehopper, anyone?

Honor/Rapunzel

If you think anyone is going to be focusing on your locks while wearing this fabulous Honor creation, think again. It’s a showstopper fit for modern royalty.

Harbison/Mulan

Beauty and confidence are on parade in this gorgeous, menswear-inspired ensemble. Mulan and her utilitarian-chic style would be proud.
