Elisabeth Hasselbeck Says Hello to 'Fox & Friends'

While fans knew that they would be bidding farewell to Joy Behar when her contact on The View expired in August, many were surprised to learn that Behar wasn't the only woman giving up her seat at the table. Elisabeth Hasselbeck is saying goodbye to The View after 10 years on the panel. But while Hasselbeck is leaving The View, she's not out of the talk show circuit. The conservative Hasselbeck is taking a job on Fox & Friends this fall, where she will replace Gretchen Carlson. Here's why Hasselbeck's new role will fit her perfectly.

She's The Perfect Shade of "Fox-Blond"

Hasselbeck has enviable golden locks, which makes her the perfect candidate to join a Fox News show. Just look at Ainsly Earhardt, Megyn Kelly, Martha MacCallum, and the woman that Hasselbeck is taking over for, Gretchen Carlson. Do you think they all ask for the same shade at the salon — "GOP Gold"? And can you tell any of them apart anymore?

She's Following in Gretchen Carlson's Footsteps, in More Ways Than One

Hasselbeck may be taking over for Carlson on Fox & Friends, but that's not where their similarities end. Both women are moving up the talk show hierarchy. Carlson is leaving Fox & Friends to anchor her own daytime talkshow in the fall. It's only a matter of time before Hasselbeck is itching to take the sole anchor role herself, and it seems that Fox could make it happen for her.

She's Got a Pageant Background

Like Gretchen Carlson, who was both Miss Minnesota AND Miss America, Elisabeth Hasselbeck also has a pageant background. Sure, she wasn't Miss America, but she did judge wannabes in the Miss Teen USA Pageant in 2001. It takes a lot of charisma to call for "world peace"... especially when your View history proves you're pro-Iraq War.

She's Got the Competitive Edge

Hey, remember how Elisabeth Hasselbeck got her start on Survivor: Outback? Back when Hasselbeck was only known as the "footwear designer," she kicked some serious ass competing in the wilderness reality show. She's going to need that spirit to take down anyone whose opinions may differ from hers on Fox & Friends. (Translation: The opinions of anyone who doesn't watch Fox News.)

She Showed Her Support for the Right at the Republican National Convention

Back in September 2008, Elisabeth headed to the RNC to hang with Sarah Palin and the McCain family, where she handed out "McCain 2008" t-shirts. Hasselbeck even gave a speech during the lunch service which she wrote herself. Fox News' Sean Hannity even got one of Hasselbeck's limited edition t-shirts. Yeah, we think she'll fit right in on Fox & Friends.

She Can Question President Obama Even MORE Now!

Fox & Friends doesn't exactly love President Obama... which they made pretty clear when they questioned the "truth" about the President's religion and birthplace. (Um, still the USA. Calm yourselves.) Hasselbeck may not have questioned basic facts about the President during her time on The View, but she certainly questioned everything else that he did during his two terms. She can let her opinions run wild on Fox & Friends.
