Nubian Skin Just Launched A +Size Range

Nubian Skin is a brand known for its inclusivity in providing nude underwear and hosiery for people of color who haven't previously had such items available to match their skin color. Now the company is taking its body positivity that one step further with a Nubian Skin curve range of hosiery. By offering plus sizes in its numerous different skin color shades, Nubian Skin is proving itself to be the epitome of a feminist brand.

According to Nubian Skin's blog, this move for plus size inclusion seems like a natural progression for the brand: "We’ve always been about increasing inclusivity and we are so pleased this is another way we can do this for our customers."

The curve range isn't just an extension in size range, either. Much thought has clearly gone into what a plus size tights-wearer requires from their hosiery. The tights are available in XL, 2XL, and 3XL, and utilize xceptionelle technology by Lycra to accommodate volume, be it in height or width. The tights even have an anti-chafing panel, an anti-roll waistband, and reinforced toes.

Nubian Skin also interviewed the models from its latest curve campaign to get real reviews regarding how its new plus size range actually feels.

Chanel, who can be seen modeling the "berry" shade, was overjoyed with the new range: “The fact that I can wear my own skin color tights that fit perfectly is a bonus for me! Being larger, tights that fit perfectly and comfortably [are] almost impossible to find. Nubian Skin [has] the BEST tights out there! Please bring on the Curve bras and panties," she told the brand.

The excitement continued as all of the models exclaimed their love for the retailer and the new curve collection.

“I am looking forward to Nubian Skin’s curve collection. Being [a] black tall lady, I have always found it difficult to find my complexion in tights ranges on the high street. The colors [would] either be too dark or too light, so I gave up and stuck to wearing black tights until now. Nubian Skin tights are a perfect match with my skin color! The texture of the tights is silky and smooth when I put them on. I couldn't believe how great my legs looked — no more hiding them in black tights. I am so excited that the Curve range is launching, they are definitely filling a void in the market," commented Chi-Chi, who modeled the "caramel" shade.

Although this is a major step forward for inclusivity by the brand, the plus size community is already anxious to see the plus size love spread to its bra and panties collections. Marie Denee of The Curvy Fashionista asked Nubian Skin about the possibility of a plus size bra and undies range. She shared the brand's marketing department's comments with her followers: "Our first project is developing the cup sizes to offer a more comprehensive range — which we hope will be ready for summer! We will be going up to a G-cup!"

I for one can't wait to see what this body positive brand has in store for us this year. It's kicked off 2016 by setting an example for all inclusivity-aiming retailers and designers out there. At this rate, Nubian Skin it set to be the most BoPo brand of the year.
