Dominic Sherwood's A 'Shadowhunters' Triple Threat

Fans of young adult novels know that not every book can make a successful leap to the big screen — unfortunately, just because Harry Potter and The Hunger Games did it doesn't mean everyone can do it. However, that doesn't really soften the sting for fans of Cassandra Clare's The Mortal Instruments series when looking back on the 2013 film The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones. Now, ABC Family — I mean Freeform! — is bringing us a new adaptation of the novels called Shadowhunters, starring Dominic Sherwood as the dreamy demon hunter Jace Wayland. But who is Dominic Sherwood and where have you seen him before?

First of all, Sherwood isn't alone in fighting against the forces of evil in Shadowhunters. He'll have help from the rest of the cast including Katharine McNamara as Clary Fray, the main character who learns she's a Shadowhunter as well. Plus, Emeraude Toubia and Matthew Daddario co-star as Jace's fellow Shadowhunters and semi-adoptive siblings Isabelle and Alec Lightwood. Rounding out the core cast are Alberto Rosende as Clary's best friend Simon Lewis and Harry Shum, Jr. as the powerful warlock Magnus Bane. Fans of The Mortal Instruments (myself included) are excited to see these characters brought to life, but what should everyone know about Sherwood before falling in love with him on Shadowhunters? Well, a quick glance at his resume shows you should already be in love with him.

He's Most Known For Vampire Academy

Vampire Academy was another adaptation of a YA novel, and it brought Sherwood into the mainstream with his role as Christian Ozera, the loner who falls in love with vampire princess Lissa Dragomir.

He Got Started Acting in 2010

Sherwood's first role was in 2010 on the third season of UK television drama The Cut , and his first film role was a very small part as a young Mick Jagger in 2012's Not Fade Away .

He's A Musician

Although his acting career may be taking up more of his time, Sherwood is also an extremely talented musician as evidenced by "Song For a Friend" and his singing skills displayed on Instagram.

He's A Model

As if being an actor and a musician isn't swoonworthy enough, Sherwood is also a model, proving himself to be a serious triple threat.

He Appeared In Taylor Swift's "Style" Video

If you thought maybe Sherwood looked familiar but didn't recognize him from any of his acting work, it may be because he starred in Taylor Swift's music video for "Style," one of the singles off of 1989. If that's not great enough on its own, Sherwood also admitted he's a fan of Swift's music — he's too cute.

He Has Heterochromia

Have you noticed Sherwood has two different color eyes? That's because he has Heterochromia, a condition that caused Sherwood to have one blue eye and one eye that's half blue, half brown. Other celebs with heterochromia include Kate Bosworth, Mila Kunis, and Henry Cavill.

He's Dating Sarah Hyland

Sherwood starred alongside Modern Family's Sarah Hyland in Vampire Academy and the two have since become an item. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but these two are one adorable couple!
