Andy & Joanna's Red Carpet Risks Paid Off

What are the Emmys without a well-dressed host? The hilarious Andy Samberg and Joanna Newsom at the 2015 Emmys have officially arrived and they're setting the tone for a bold evening on the red carpet. The man of the hour is gettin' fancy with a bow tie and patterned jacket, and his musician love isn't playing it safe either.

Although I'm a little disappointed that Samberg isn't sporting his signature black-frame glasses (OK, I'm extremely upset), his subtly checked jacket and the small squares on his bow tie are making up for it. If any guy can take a well played fashion risk, it's Samberg, and he's clearly found the perfect balance between fun and classy for the evening.

Singer-songwriter Newsom isn't letting him have all the fun, though — her pale pink gown is far from demure. With a bold, floral portrait-esque detail on the front, the strapless gown is ladylike and structured on top, but trendy pleats cascade down from just above her knees.

And, sure, Andy's hair looks pretty good too, but Newsom's sleek, stylish do is already a front-runner for my favorite beauty look of the night. Her locks are pulled back into a low ponytail over her ears, and the woman can clearly rock a middle part. Her berry-hued lips and diamond earrings complete the look.

As the host, hopefully we can expect more outfit changes from Samberg, but I'm already pretty content with his and Newsom's red carpet picks.
