August is one of those hot, sticky, gross months where everybody is hiding indoors and the internet starts producing more WTH worthy content than it does any other time of the year. And praise the humidity, August has delivered, by way of this flying kid meme that is guaranteed to improve your life after you watch it. Like, every now and then there comes a meme that unites us all — no matter your age, your background, or how many croissants you simultaneously downed this morning (ahem), you will love this meme. Nay, you will be changed forever by this meme. You don't even know how un-ready you are yet, my fellow human.
It all started last month, when Vine user Kierra Santillan posted a video to her account of a little boy playing on an inflatable bounce house with a giant, soft arm that rotated around it. The kid was taken for an unexpected ride when the arm scooped him up and carried him mid-flight for a few feet until someone got him off of it (and yes, you're allowed to laugh, because no adorable humans were harmed in the creation of this video). That might have been the end of that, but something happened in the last 24 hours: A meme was born.
Here's the original Vine, for your reference:
For some reason in the last day, people have starting meme-ing the bejeezus out of it, adding music to narrate the kid's flight. If you manage to get through all of these without laughing, than you are a better human than I am. Here are a few of the best players:
"Let It Go," Idina Menzel
"You Raise Me Up," Josh Groban
"I Believe I Can Fly," R. Kelly
"Breaking Free," Zac Efron And Vanessa Hudgens
"I Will Always Love You," Whitney Houston
"This Is Gospel," Panic! At The Disco
And my personal fave ...
"Thinking Out Loud," Ed Sheeran
I'm low key disappointed that nobody has set this to "FAME" yet, but I'll take what I can get. Thanks for making Tuesday a day worth being awake during again, meme makers of the world. The internet salutes you.
