Taylor Swift Offers Advice To Live By
If there is one group of people Taylor Swift has never had any "Bad Blood" towards, it's her fans. No amount of touring, interviews, or #SquadGoals has kept the "Shake It Off" singer from making time to show her legion of Swifties just how truly appreciated they are. Most recently, Billboard uncovered Swift's latest act of kindness on Friday, August 7, via Tumblr. A fan who goes by the name of Stormie and uses Tumblr to frequently showcase her adoration of Swift, expressed her grief over feeling lonely and anxious about the impending school year. "I've been feeling so alone lately and left out of everything and so terrified of school starting," she wrote. "[K]nowing [T]aylor is there is really comforting." Swift being the conduit of advice and compassion that she is, increased the fan's comfort tenfold with a lengthy, heartfelt reply.
"I hate that you're feeling this way and it's so hard not to dwell on our fears and doubts, because we want spoilers for how things are going to turn out," Swift posted. "Just when you think it's going to get worse, it could get better instead. IT WILL...Knowing your worth sometimes comes without any proof at all."
This is far from the first time that Swift has delivered some truly sage advice to her fans. In fact, Swift's fan advice can be used for a plethora of situations, regardless of the severity. Let's take a look, shall we?
1. "There Is Nothing Wrong With Avoiding People Who Hurt You"
When a heartbroken fan reached out to Swift for advice on a breakup, the singer was both empathetic and assertive. "I know it's hard, but I think it's time to utilize the 'block' feature on your phone. This is just damaging. Do you have to see him around?" Swift asked in response to the fan's statement that her ex had said cruel things to her post-breakup. "So don't give him the chance to say more damaging things. There is nothing wrong with avoiding people who hurt you. You fell in love, no games. Now you're saying goodbye with no games. Protect yourself, please. I'm so sorry this happened."
2. "You Have To Be The Judge Of When To Just Take It Easy On Yourself"
Swift offered this advice for anyone suffering from the pain of self judgment.
3. "Feel Good About Being The Kind Of Person Who Loves Selflessly"
When a fan wrote about her chagrin over having "the biggest crush in the whole wide world" on someone who didn't reciprocate her feelings, Swift reminded the fan that having an open heart is something to be proud of. Anyone who has felt the pangs of infatuation can benefit from this advice.
4. "You Get To Choose A New Place To Have Adventures"
For anyone going through a transition — whether it be a new living situation, going away to school, or starting a new job — Swift offered the ultimate advice for those who feel overwhelmed by change.
5. "Keep Moving...The Opinions & Words Of People Who Hurt You Will Matter Less & Less"
Swift offer a bullied fan advice on ignoring the haters.
6. "I Think Life Gets So Much Easier To Handle When You've Got Really True Friends"
Swift reminded a fan that friendships are the best ships!
7. "These Are All Habits We Have To Break When We Lose Someone & It's NOT FAIR Because It's TERRIBLE & You Are AWESOME"
Swift reminded a fan dealing with a breakup that life isn't always fair, but that doesn't mean you won't get through it.
As Swift's star doesn't seem to be dimming any time soon, I have no doubt that she will continue to bestow her fans — and everyone else — with more awesome advice to live by.
