Nick & Kendall Would Be Perfect Together

In the midst of some pretty wild celebrity relationship breakups and shakeups going on this summer (RIP Zerrie), there are still some summer hookups happening. In news that first shocked me, but immediately after made me go, "Well of course," Us Weekly reports that Nick Jonas and Kendall Jenner are dating! Mind you, the term "dating" seems to be very loosely used here because, as Us states, Jones and Jenner "are getting to know each other better over text." So things must be in the very early stages, right? ... Or are they?

I don't remember ever hearing of these two hanging out before, but being that Jenner's BFF Gigi Hadid is now dating Nick Jonas' brother, Joe, it seems inevitable that something would spark up. In fact, Nick shared with The Mirror last month that Hadid and his brother were already trying to play matchmaker between him and Jenner. He said, “He has mentioned that a few times and so has Gigi. We’ll see, I don’t know ... We’ll play it by ear. I wouldn’t be opposed to it."

Sounds like the plan was a success! Here are some of the reasons I think a Kendall Jenner / Nick Jonas relationship could really, really work.

1. They Can Have Even More Double Dates

Just a week ago, the two Jonas brothers and the BFFs were spotted by fans in Vegas, where Joe had a DJ gig. Imagine all of the other awesome future trips they could take together. You and your best friend each dating one of a pair of hot, successful brothers sounds like a dream to me.

2. They Both Come From Big Families

Jenner is part of one of the biggest celebrity families (I think you know them), and The Jonas Brothers had major success as a family boy band. Both are close to their parents and call their siblings their best friends. This similarity, and the importance they place on family, could be important in a relationship.

3. They Both Have Their Own Successful Careers

There's no need to worry that one of them is "more famous" than the other. Nick has been having a crazy solo breakout career since last summer, and Jenner has become one of the most in-demand young models out there, recently starring in a Balmain campaign. No room for jealousy here.

4. They Have Been Friendly Before

It is always a good thing to be friends with your boo first. Seems like the two have allegedly hung out before, such as backstage at a Victoria's Secret show.

5. They Can Be The Next Hot Young Hollywood Couple

Obviously, they are both ridiculously good-looking, and the supermodel/musician dynamic has captivated people for decades, so together, they could create a supernova of celebrity. Imagine the squad of the Jenners, the Hadid girls, The Weeknd, the Jonas Brothers, Selena Gomez, and all of their other friends.

6. They Both Love Their Calvins

I think Jonas' Calvin Klein underwear photos might go down in history for the trouble they caused for women across the Internet when they were released. Jenner recently revealed her latest campaign with Calvin Klein, and the photos were just as scandalous, which is yet another thing these two have in common.

Needless to say, this might be a match made in pop culture heaven.
