First Look at 'Amazing Spider-Man 2'
In the first official trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 , Jamie Foxx's villain Electro slurs, "Soon, everyone in this city will know how it feels to live in a world without power, without mercy, without Spider-Man." Ha! That would be far easier to believe, my dear villain, if Sony hadn't already confirmed the future presence of The Amazing Spider-Man 3 and The Amazing Spider-Man 4 . And, considering the last film in Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man franchise hit theaters in 2007, and The Amazing Spider-Man reboot premiered in 2012, I think we can safely say, no, Electro. We will never know what a world without Spider-Man looks like. You've been bested before you even began, my friend.
But I digress. The trailer itself for the sequel to the reboot is encouraging, promising plenty of action from Foxx and charm from Emma Stone, making up for the serious lack of Shailene Woodley, whose role as Mary Jane was unceremoniously axed from the final cut of Amazing Spider-Man 2. Sure, Andrew Garfield, in the trailer, proves to be just another conflicted superhero to add to the pile. (Says his Spider-Man in the spot, "The more people I try to save, the more enemies I will make, and it's just a matter of time before i face those with more power than i can overcome.") But it's nice to see a superhero that can smile every once in awhile, as evidenced by Garfield's scenes with real-life girlfriend Stone.
An additional bonus? Our first look at the reboot's Harry Osbourne, played by Dane DeHaan's blue eyes:
Quite a departure from James Franco's version of the role in the original, but, in a very unoriginal reboot, is that such a bad thing? Watch The Amazing Spider-Man 2 trailer below!
